Please feel free to call or email us if, after reading this document, you still don't understand our policy. Our contact details are provided throughout this site and at the end of this document.
Berlinguer Ltd respects your privacy and we are committed to protect the personal information you share with us. For the most part you can browse through our website without giving us any information at all about yourself. When we do need your information - to enrol on our specialist mailing lists or to help us provide you with faster and more effective services - we will ask you to provide it. Alternately, you may simply choose to give us your personal information to gain broader access to our services.
To make it easier for you to navigate through this document, it is subdivided into
the following sections:
Please
make sure that you read and understand this privacy statement and are happy
with these terms before you enter any personal information onto our website.
IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH ANY OF THESE TERMS PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER YOUR DETAILS WITH US.
This website is constantly being altered and upgraded to ensure that we provide you
with an optimal information service. Some of these changes have no impact on
data protection and will not be notified to you in advance. However, any
changes in registration procedures or the collection of data [as outlined
below] will be signposted by a special flash on the right hand navigation bar a
minimum of 30 days before it is implemented.
Berlinguer collects individual names, company names, postal addresses including post code, email addresses, job titles, type of business, company telephone and fax
numbers. Where applicable, we also ask for your domain name and email address. This will happen if you ask to be included in an email or other mailing list, if you submit entries for occasional promotions, or if you submit your personal information in order to ask for more details about our services. For the avoidance of doubt, we ask for this information in order to provide registered visitors to the site with press releases, occasional news stories, an irregular email alert service, or our own newsletter, or all of these.
We do not automatically collect information on visitors to our websites including your email address. When you browse this site, you can do so entirely anonymously. We only start to collect your personal information when you fill in the order forms provided for this purpose.
Data on firms and people is collected in order to efficiently segregate the mailing lists for the different marketing efforts undertaken by Berlinguer and our email alert services and online newsletters.
From time to time Berlinguer also runs online industry surveys. These surveys will sometimes be anonymous. Sometimes they will collect only limited information, such as job titles and/or company names, market specialisms or interests.
Berlinguer Ltd also receives personal information from business suppliers and vendors.Berlinguer Ltd only uses such information if it has been collected in accordance with acceptable privacy practices consistent with this Policy and applicable laws.
When your personal information is collected we tell you at the point of collection the purpose of asking you for your data. Where applicable, we will give you the opportunity to opt out of receiving direct marketing or market research information. If you do not want to receive emails, postal mailings, or telephone calls, or any
other communications from Berlinguer, or other Berlinguer group companies in
future, please let us know by sending an email to: priority@berlinguer.com or by calling
us or writing to the Berlinguer Database Manager at the address provided at the
end of this document. Unless we hear from you, we assume you have given us your consent to collect and use your information if you provide it in the sections and boxes we have provided for this purpose, unless you specifically take action to indicate that you do not give your consent.
Once you register with us, your name and contact details are held in a central database and are then re-entered into a larger and customised database, subdivided by industry specialization and/or country market. Only a limited number of people [and these are always Berlinguer employees] are allowed access to this database and your details. The data is not freely available to all employees. Irrespective of circumstance, as a matter of company policy, the data is not sold or passed on to third parties. If there is going to be a change to this policy, we will provide you with at least six weeks notice, equivalent to 30 full working days, so that you can contact us if you wish, to ask us to erase your details out of our database.
However, once you are registered with Berlinguer you are no longer anonymous to us and
we will contact you. In order to minimize our contact with you, tailor our
communications with you and improve our products and services, we may from time
to time ask you to provide us with information regarding your professional
interests and experience with our products.
